Let's go to PLATFORM
My favorite part of living in Los Angeles is the amount of places to go. From coffee shops, museums, landmarks, malls and more, LA’s got you covered. Today I’m super excited to share about my favorite shopping center in Culver City — PLATFORM.
What separates PLATFORM from all other shopping centers is the carefully selected brands and culinary talents that are housed. There’s so much to explore and the best way to do so is by making a day out of it. With incredible dining options, curated boutiques, pop-up shops and events, there’s never a dull moment at PLATFORM!
Now surprisingly, I found PLATFORM when I was trying to get some delicious ice-cream at Van Leeuwen (an artisan ice-cream shop that will quickly become your new favorite)! What I didn’t know at the time was that this particular Van Leeuwen was not a stand alone shop but it’s actually in PLATFORM. From that point, PLATFORM was my new favorite place to go!
And since I love PLATFORM so much, I knew I wanted to collaborate in some way and this blog post was the perfect opportunity! Before starting to write this post, I got the chance to take a full, in-depth tour of PLATFORM with their amazing concierge team! On the tour, I learned about the history of PLATFORM and its many unique boutiques as well. For example, there are a lot of firsts at PLATFORM. Some of the pop-up shops at such as Nanushka, a contemporary fashion label from Budapest, got to open their first store on the West Coast at PLATFORM. This concept also goes for other labels and permanent boutiques as well. In addiction, PLATFORM also houses the West Coast headquarters for SoulCycle and Sweetgreen!
So if you guys are planning to visit PLATFORM, here are some of my favorite shops:
Anytime I make a visit to PLATFORM, I always make sure to go to Magasin. Created by Bloomingdale’s former Fashion Director Josh Peskowitz and CD Network Showroom’s Christophe Demaison and Simon Golby, Magasin is a menswear paradise!
I also got the pleasure of interviewing Josh and it was a lot of fun learning more about Magasin. When asking him why he decided to open his store at PLATFORM, he said, “The West Side was lacking a menswear perspective” and because there was, “More opportunity on the West Side of LA then Downtown”.
As perviously mentioned, there is never a dull moment at PLATFORM. I love walking around and discovering new news as I go. But incase I get thirsty on my way, I love to grab boba tea from Boba Guys or an iced cold-brew from Blue Bottle Coffee.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading today’s blog post as much as I enjoyed writing it! PLATFORM is truly one of LA’s gems and I think you will definitely enjoy visiting there as much as I do! Let me know what your favorite spots are in LA down in the comments!
